Funding Purpose and Common Uses
The TVP Technology Voucher Programme, launched in November 2016, aims to help Hong Kong businesses or organizations enhance productivity, improve service quality, and upgrade through technology. It covers 75% of the costs for tech development services, with funding up to HK$600,000.
As of February 2022, 10,006 out of 10,300 reviewed applications were approved, totaling about HK$1.554 billion, with a 97% success rate. Reports from 800 beneficiary organizations indicate that nearly 97% found TVP increased competitiveness, and 3% improved efficiency and cost savings. Almost all support the programme's continuation.
Example: A cha chaan teng used to take orders manually. With TVP funding, they developed a website and app, allowing customers to order before arriving, reducing staffing costs.
Required Documents for TVP
- Copy of Business Registration (BR) or Company Registry Annual Return
- Copy of proof of substantial operations in Hong Kong in the past three months
- Copy of the applicant's valid Hong Kong identity card or passport
- Signed Confirmation of Integrity and Non-Collusive Quotation/Tender as per Application Guide paragraph 13
- Copies of quotations from three different IT companies
TVP Technology Voucher Funding Scope
- The scope of the Technology Voucher is extensive, benefiting industries such as retail stores, online shops, hotels, travel agencies, wholesalers, accounting firms, clinics, and entertainment venues.
- Purchase, lease, or order necessary components, technology services, software, or hardware for the project, but they must be "customized" according to client requirements.
- If purchasing, leasing, or ordering necessary components, technology services, software, or hardware that are "off-the-shelf," their cost must not exceed 50% of the project.
